# Bounce Number Before Address Blocking

The ‘Number of Bounces Before Blocking Address’ setting allows you to specify after how many hard bounces an email address will be automatically blocked:

* **From 1 to 3 Bounces:** You can choose to block the address after 1, 2, or 3 hard bounces. By default, the block occurs after the first bounce.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note!** The setting for the number of bounces applies only to the moment of activating the blocking mechanism. This means that the email address will be registered on the blacklist after the first hard bounce, regardless of the selected number of bounces before the final block.
{% endhint %}
