Why it is worth it?
Until recently many e-mail providers required addition of text version of message to a standard html version. This rule was implemented because not all devices supported e-mail messages in html. Today, all smartphones, tablets and electronic gadgets handle html encoded e-mail messages with ease. However providers still require a text version. It is very important as some of them direct messages without a text version added to a SPAM folder. The world’s most popular antispam filter – SPAM Assassin also rewards senders for adding text version.
How should a text version look like?
It is best when a text version coincides with html version – SPAM Assassin then does not assign SPAM qualification points (the more points, the higher chance that our message will be marked as SPAM). It is not a necessity and any text will help us reach the inbox.
