What is SPF?

SPF (Sender Policy Framework) – An incoming mail servers security protection protocol, IT blocks e-mail receival from unauthorized sources. SPF was created to limit the number of SPAM e-mails.

How does SPF work?

SPF protected server checks in DNS system whether a message was send from a server authorized to send out messages from a given domain. When it is authorized the mail is accepted. However when an IP address or domain address of a send out server is not authorized to send e-mails from a given domain, e-mail is not accepted. Thanks to this messages sent by spammers spoofing someone else’s address or by Mydoom type viruses will be rejected.

SPF is automatically enabled after successful registration in EmailLabs.
